The Malaysian Society of Infectious Diseases and Chemotherapy (MSIDC) is a registered non-profit society, dealing with the field of infectious diseases and antimicrobial chemotherapy.
The Society was established in 1987 and is open to all those who are medically associated and have an interest in the mentioned fields. Currently there are 228 members.
The objectives of the Society are:
- to facilitate the acquisition and dissemination of knowledge in the field of infectious diseases and chemotherapy
- to promote research and scientific knowledge in the mentioned field through discussions, reports and publications and, in furtherance of its objectives, hold an annual scientific meeting as well as symposium or seminars in specific areas of infection and chemotherapy. It also provides help to researchers in their work by organizing hands-on workshop on the latest laboratory techniques in diagnostics and management strategies.
MSIDC is an affiliate member of both the Western Pacific Society of Chemotherapy (WPSC) and the International Society of Chemotherapy (ISC) (www.ischemo.org)
